Max Lu

Hey there and welcome to my website! I'm a Ph.D. student at Harvard University.

Before joining Harvard, I worked as the Special Projects and Product Development Lead at Bloomberg LP, where I had the opportunity to lead the development of a digital platform for global leaders at the New Economy Forum. I'm also one of the co-founders of Dialogues on Asian Universities (DAU), a platform for global dialogue on Asian higher education, alongside three amazing higher education visionaries.

My research interests lie at the intersection of technology, media, and learning. I'm particularly enthusiastic about applying Humanistic Intelligence (HI) principles to boost our learning efficiency through technology. According to Steve Mann, the key difference between AI and HI is the tight feedback loop between humans and machines. Below is an illustration of why improving our learning efficiency is so imperative.

When I'm not working or studying, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Rachel, and our lovely cat, Tommy.
